My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education/Kinesiology and a Professional Teaching Credential (for K – Adult). In the public high school setting I taught health education and physical education.
I have been involved in both public and private education for over 40 years. I currently provide continuing education in the form of workshops and mentoring. For 17 years, I served as adjunct faculty at Bastyr University, Physical Medicine Department, teaching basic massage skills to future Naturopathic Physicians and Acupuncturists. I also served as Director of Education and Instructor at both Brenneke School of Massage (later Cortiva Institute Seattle now closed) and Seattle Massage School (now closed).
My Education Philosophy
I believe learning is a life long endeavor. I actively expand my knowledge through continued education, staying current with information and research developments relevant to the profession and taking continuing education courses. As a result my beliefs and practices continue to evolve and grow.
I believe in creating safe, interactive, evocative, provocative, structured and fun learning opportunities. I am a passionate, attentive, respectful and playful teacher. I enjoy teaching and value student contributions to class and to expanding my learning as well. I work to help students discover and advance their passions, potentials and success.
I currently provide continuing education for licensed massage professionals in a variety of venues covering a variety of advanced massage/bodywork specialty topics. I also guest present at massage schools, professional conferences and for various public and private organizations.
My Continuing Education courses are available throughout the year at a variety of venues.
